Famous casts to be auctioned for charity

One of the newest breast cancer charities in Canada, Keep-A-Breast (KAB), will auction off the plaster breast casts of notable celebrities that have been painted by professional artists, according to NorthernLife.ca.

The group is hoping to spread breast cancer awareness. KAB has used the cast auction to their benefit in the past, selling a mould of Katy Perry for $3,500.

The casts of Holly Thourne, Andrea Sacchetto, Pandora Topp and Mini Gregorini will be auctioned at the Laughing Buddha on Feb. 4 in Sudbury, Ontario, with all proceeds supporting KAB.

The casts will be on display at the restaurant so the community can come to admire the skill of the artists and maybe place a bid when the auction comes around. Guests are encouraged to donate to the cause so that KAB can continue to do their great work for Canadians.

According to BreastCancer.org, a woman's risk of breast cancer approximately doubles if she has a family member who has been diagnosed with the disease.
